How I found the Internet

When I was younger, I never knew what the Internet was. In our house, we have this room that’s filled with books and a desk. On the desk was of course, a laptop. Every day my brother would stay in there all day in darkness. Each time I passed the room, there was always one burst of light.

Like any child, I was curious to find out what he was doing every day and what that light was. My first instinct was to go towards it. Ok, just to be clear, I was pretty young when this happened. Probably like four or something. I was a pretty weird child and anything could’ve amused me. Especially light. So don’t worry, I’m not some sort of moth-human hybrid thing.

Anyways, my first instinct was to find out what was causing this glow in the dark room. Being a weird child, I thought of a bunch of possibilities that could be causing the light, like this:

Apparently I thought that shining a flashlight in a box was an actual amusing pastime.

After fantasizing about flashlights and cardboard boxes, I thought, that I should make one too! If my brother was having so much fun, I could've had even more. So, I made the box light creator thing. Then, I spent hours flashing light into the box. Don't make fun, but it was actually really fun. Once my brother finally came out of his room he asked what I was doing. But being a super cool spy child, I decided to keep it a secret.

Although I was amused for the first couple hours, I eventually got bored and forgot about it. So, I went back to wondering what the light was. But this time, I went head on. I walked into the room, little by little, until:

DON'T. TOUCH. THE. SCREEN.

So I vowed to never go back in there again. Well, that lasted about three hours until my brother went out with his friends. Then I realized something; the computer room was now open. Even better, his laptop was lying there. Untouched. Or at least until I got my hands on it.

So I began to browse on the computer. But to be honest, I’m not entirely sure how I figured that thing out. But anyways, when I went to school the next day, I raved about this Internet thing. All my friends didn't know about it, so I was the QUEEN BEE of grade one. And thats saying something. But since it was my brother’s computer, I was never allowed to use it anyways. After years of waiting, I finally got it. My brother got a new computer, so I got the hand-me-down. Now, I have been caressed with pictures of cats, pizza John Green and of course, Benedict Cumberbatch. So now, I’m the one cooped in that room. What can I say, like brother like sister.

DON'T. TOUCH. THE. SCREEN.
